How was this plan created?We spent 2024 really listening to our community through surveys, interviews, and member forums. This three-year strategic plan reflects what you told us matters most - from wanting more learning programs to concerns about space and affordability. Every goal and priority comes directly from Villager feedback and input from our volunteers, board, and community partners. |
How will this benefit current members?You'll see more programs and services, better support when you need it, comfortable spaces for gathering, technology that actually helps rather than hinders, and the long-term sustainability you can count on. As we grow thoughtfully, you'll have more opportunities to connect with others and access the resources that matter to you. |
When will we see changes?Changes are already beginning! 2025 is our "Strengthening Year" where we welcome new leadership, launch comprehensive fundraising, and expand volunteer programs. You'll also see new outreach and engagement efforts — like this strategic plan itself — designed to reach potential members and community supporters. Facility and technology improvements will roll out throughout the years, with new programs launching based on community needs assessments. |
Who leads this plan implementation?Carol Appel (Executive Director) and Kim Jellicoe (Board Member) serve as Overall Plan Co-champions, working closely with our Board of Directors. Each focus area (e.g., financial, infrastructure, outreach and engagement) has a dedicated Board Member leading the effort along with the help of additional team members. However, the entire Village community — members, volunteers, and supporters — plays a role in our success. |
What makes this plan different from past efforts?This is our first comprehensive three-year strategic plan, created through extensive community input. It focuses on sustainable growth that maintains our community feel while building the infrastructure and partnerships needed to serve more older adults effectively. |
How can I get involved?There are many ways to help implement our plan: volunteer for new programs, take on volunteer coordination or leadership roles, invite friends to learn about the Village by attending information sessions, or share your ongoing feedback. |
How will you keep us updated on progress?We'll share regular updates through our newsletter, this webpage, social media, and at Village events. Look for progress stories, milestone updates and possibly celebrations. |
